Back to launchSee questions for customersHow is this a different experience for artists than other places?
You want to make things, not to spend your days chasing algorithms, managing marketing campaigns, or learning the latest social platform.
ArtisanNex is designed to help you spend more time creating and less time managing. We’re building tools that make opening a storefront just a few clicks, with minimal setup and ongoing maintenance.
From product listings to inventory management and customer communication, we’re working to make the business side of selling handmade a little easier.
Our goal is to make ArtisanNex a one stop place to manage your business.
What kind of tools are you going to have for artists?
At launch we’ll have automated product drops, social media integration for your shop page, announcements, customer lists, and direct customer messaging.
As we grow we will add tools including automated social media posting, pricing calculator, vlogs/blogs, featured artists, seasonal and holiday showcases, and many more.
Who can sell on ArtisanNex?
Anyone who makes their own thing. If you’re an artist, maker, or designer creating original work, this is your place.
Don’t see a category that fits what you make? Send us a note at info@artisannex.com and tell us about your work. If it meets our criteria, we’ll help you get set up.
What does it cost to join and list on ArtisanNex?
Nothing. No joining fees, no listing fees, no commissions, no surprise charges. List your work without getting hit by a stack of fees, advertising charges, or pay-to-play boosts.
Apply to sell on ArtisanNex, and we’ll review your submission.
As we grow and add tools to make life easier, we’ll introduce some additional affordable membership tiers, but we will always have a free tier for artists to list on.
No listing fees and commissions sounds too good to be true. How do you make it work?
We add a small service fee to the price of products listed on the site. This fee covers our overhead on things like credit card transactions, marketing, and customer service.
How it works
You set a product price when you create a product listing. You get 100% of the price you set. When a product is displayed to a customer, we take the product price + service fee and display the total price to the customer. We believe upfront pricing is important and will always show customers the total price they are paying for an item.
Example
You set your price as $10. ArtisanNex adds $1 to the price as a service fee and displays $11 to the customer as the total price of the product.
No other marketplace uses this type of pricing model, why are you choosing it?
We want you to get paid fairly for your work. With other methods, fees and commissions add up quickly and rapidly reduce the amount artists actually make. Plus you have to understand the ins and outs of how a system works to figure out what you should charge and how much you get paid. By using this method we simplify the process for you. You know exactly what you are getting without any extra work.
What is a dropshipper?
A dropshipper sells products they didn’t make and possibly never touch. They list an item online and when you buy it, they pass your order to a factory or wholesaler. That supplier ships it straight to you.
The dropshipper is a middleman. They mark up the price and keep the difference.
Dropshippers hurt makers. They copy designs, undercut prices, and crowd real work out of search results. Buyers get burned and start to distrust handmade sellers as a whole.
ArtisanNex is built to keep them out. Creating a community is how we help protect each other from knockoffs and cheap merchandise and create a place that customers can trust what they buy.
